Local 159, representing eight counties including Clark, Coles, Cumberland, Douglas, Edgar, Macon, Moultrie, and Shelby County, is part of the Laborers’ International Union of North America (LIUNA), one of the country’s most progressive and robust unions. With a membership exceeding 500,000, LIUNA stands as the eighth largest labor organization in the United States, advocating for a skilled and diverse workforce. Its members include construction workers, educators, healthcare providers, government employees, industrial workers, and service personnel.
